Can You Overdose On CBD? – CBD Instead

Can You Overdose On CBD?

Published on

When taking a medication, it’s always good to know if there is a lethal dose or not. Taking too many sleeping pills, for instance, could result in never waking up. So the question is, can you overdose on CBD oil?

For centuries, people have been using cannabis for different reasons. There is the industrial purposes, medical purposes, and spiritual purposes. To this day, there have yet to be any fatal overdoses with cannabis alone. More specifically through research, there has yet to be any deadly overdoses reported with CBD oil, either.

How Much Could Be Too Much?

Multiple studies with both rodent and human subjects have shown that CBD oil can be tolerated at a very high dose of up to 1,500 MG a day. This is more CBD than what is suggested for the majority of ailments, with most people starting at just double-digit milligrams.

Any Dangerous Side-Effects?

Another study has also highlighted how uncommon the side effects are when using hemp oil. They notice that the most common side effect is with people who are taking medication that is processed with the p-450 enzyme. Though overdosing may not be possible, interaction with other medicine has shown to have risks because CBD changes the way you metabolize.

What This Could Mean For You

Many people who suffer from depression may take anti-depressants to help with their illness. One problem with this is that they have the power to end their life with the tool they are using to try to save it. By taking a medication that you can’t overdose on, this becomes a safer alternative for those who suffer from suicidal thoughts.

Considering that CBD oil also helps relieve pain, this is excellent news for people who find themselves taking the addictive painkillers. Some may see themselves taking more than they should, which is extremely risky for their body’s sake as well as their life. By taking CBD instead, you can keep redosing without having to worry about going too far.

People who take medication for anxiety may also feel like they re-dose more than they might like to admit. Their brain is going so insane, and the only thing to quiet it down is some medication so they can go on with their day. By using CBD instead of benzodiazepines that can be addictive and fatal, you don’t run the same risks of accidental or intentional overdose.

Talk To Your Doctor

If you are ready to take the next step towards a happy and healthy life, then be sure to talk to your doctor and include them on what medications you are taking. It may seem a bit scary to disclose that you are using alternative medicine, but involving a professional will be more beneficial than refusing to disclose what medication you’re taking.
