How Can CBD Oil Impact Your Marriage? – CBD Instead

How Can CBD Oil Impact Your Marriage?

Published on

You don’t have to have a diagnosed mental illness to understand anxiety, rage, or depression. All of these extreme emotions can happen to anyone, and they can put wear and tear on your relationship. Though counseling and being heavily involved in the relationship are the best remedies to a struggling marriage, CBD oil might be able to help couples as well.

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical that we find in the cannabis sativa plant. Don’t worry; it doesn’t get you high like THC. Instead, CBD promotes an elevated mood and regulates both brain and body chemistry. CBD can be so involved with so many different ailments because it interacts with our endocannabinoid system.

What Is The Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is the system in your body in charge of homeostasis. This means that it makes sure that your body is running healthy and normal. If you get angry, your endocannabinoid system helps you calm down. When you are hurt, this is the system that makes sure you heal.

Three Major Parts Of The ECS

Cannabinoid Receptors

Cannabinoid receptors are all over your body on all of your cells. Chemicals bind to these receptors to create physiological effects. Scientists have discovered two receptors, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are more densely populated in the brain and control the neurological functions of the body. CB2 receptors are more spread throughout, located in your skin tissue, organs, and more, with the functionality geared towards your immune system.

Endocannabinoid

Our brain organically creates chemicals that very similar to cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. This would explain why the plant so affects our bodies so profoundly. The endocannabinoids play a part in the transmission between neurons. When a presynaptic cell sends a message to the postsynaptic cell, that is how you can think, feel, laugh, or move. Overactive neurons are the main culprits of many disorders, which is where endocannabinoids really shine.

The endocannabinoids leave from the postsynaptic cell, traveling backward through a process called retrograde signaling. When it reaches the presynaptic cell, it binds to the cannabinoid receptors and gives the neuron a message. This message is what determines what gets sent out to the postsynaptic neuron. This is how it can reduce sensitivity to pain, calm down people with anxiety, and reduce specific symptoms of psychosis.

Metabolic Enzymes

If your brain created chemicals and never cleaned them up after they were all used up, your brain would be a mess. The organic material would clog up your brain, making it impossible for it to communicate with yourself. This is what the metabolic enzymes are for. They go around and disintegrate chemicals that are no longer of any use. While they are going about as the cleanup crew, these proteins promote healthy lifecycles in cells and repair damage. These enzymes are also where endocannabinoids are synthesized.

So How Can CBD Help With Your Marriage?

The Angry Partner

Marriage is going to have its fights. There are going to be times where you love your partner, but you really don’t like them at that moment. If you find that you and your spouse are frequently fighting and one of you is losing control, CBD can help with that anger.

When your emotions are running high, you aren’t thinking correctly. You may say things you don’t mean, and words are something you can never take back. Or even worse, you may get physically violent. Screaming and boxing matches are no good for a marriage, but not everyone can take a deep breath to calm down and assess the situation.

Taking CBD pills to get relief throughout the day, or even just taking it as needed through tinctures, can really help you out when you’re in a verbal scuffle. Being medicated throughout the day will make your pot slower to boil, and having an emergency dose on the side can come in the clutch when you’re about to explode.

The Paranoid Partner

You could have the most fantastic partner, but your brain might continuously tell you otherwise. Maybe you’ve been hurt in the past, or everything in the media has been reminding you of how disgusting human beings are, and you’re married to one.

Worrying about who they are texting or worry about where they are going when they have never given you any reason to is suffocating. This need of affirmation will only push your lover away, but you can’t help it! You’re going crazy in there!

Paranoia and fear are symptoms of anxiety. If you’ve been hurt or the world around you is telling you how you’re supposed to feel about something, your brain starts seeing patterns that may not really exist.

CBD calms down overactive neurons, relieving symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety makes you feel and think irrationally, which unfortunately can turn into actions. Taking CBD can help get the enemy out of your head and help you sleep a little better next to them every night.

The Sexually Dry Partner

There are many reasons couples stop having sex. Losing interest, feeling insecure, and lack of libido are just a few common reasons. Of course, making your sex life more exciting and showering each other with affirmation is an excellent way to take care of the first two issues, but stress or depression can cause lack of libido; equally as hard to fix.

If you or your partner can never get into the mood because of daily stressors or depression, CBD can help relieve you of that. There is also CBD lubrication that makes sex more enjoyable for receiving end of the sexual act. By applying CBD lube to your vagina or anus, it relaxes the muscles and provides a more enjoyable experience.

The Lazy Partner

It’s very rare that someone is actually lazy. Laziness is a lack of motivation, which is most commonly linked to depression. This is extremely common in stay-at-home spouses, who may spend the entire day watching soap operas instead of taking care of the house. This isn’t because they don’t care or they are lazy, it that their brain doesn’t register anything as necessary and there isn’t enough energy to spare anyway.

CBD helps with depression symptoms such as lack of motivation and hopelessness just like the typical pharmaceutical. It also elevates the endocannabinoid anandamide, which will give you a boost of energy similar to the runners high you get after exercising. This can give you that extra nudge to getting things done so you don’t have that added guilt of another wasted day.

The Forgetful Partner

If you have too many things on your mind, it’s only going to hold so much. This world we live in today requires extreme multitasking that can cause stress to your mental health. This stress can cause you to forget where you left your keys, what assignments are due, and anniversaries.

Being with a partner who is always forgetful can be frustrating. Being that partner is just as disappointing if not more. CBD helps with focus and concentration by keeping your head level. With so much information buzzing around, your brain is excited. CBD calms it down so you can have a more clear mindset. A calm mind has a better understanding of what is necessary at the moment to think about and what is not, making it less cluttered and confusing to go about your day. You should additionally invest in a calendar.

The Impulsive Partner

Impulsivity can be fun and exciting, but it can also be detrimental to health and credit scores. People who are impulsive are desperate for something. When it comes to spontaneous buying, they are missing something and getting that reward reaction through buy one get one sales. Being impulsive through conversations, like being loud and boisterous when it is inappropriate, is a symptom of social anxiety. Impulsivities can begin to take a toll on everyone in the home, and through counseling and therapy, you can break these habits.

While going through counseling, CBD oil can help keep your brain from going crazy before you have learned how to train it. It’s not so easy to say no when your brain chemistry is pulling you in the other direction. Because of CBD’s ability to regulate your brain chemistry, it is an excellent tool against impulsivity.

More Than Medicine

When you have a headache, taking CBD can make it go away. But it doesn’t solve the underlying problem if you are dehydrated. Medicine isn’t some magical bean that can cause problems to go away; its job is to help. It’s imperative that you utilize more tools than just medicating if your marriage is struggling.

Couples counseling can benefit the both of you greatly. There are trained professionals who see your problems every day and have spent years in school learning how to help you solve them. There is no shame in getting couples counseling. Let’s be real, do we honestly even know what we are doing? Having a mediator through conversations could prove to be more beneficial than you might think

If you are thinking about taking CBD for some issues you’re having, be sure to discuss with a medical professional what you plan on doing. Some medicines don’t mix well with CBD, and you need to be aware of the risks that may be involved with you individually. Cannabidiol is one of the most well-tolerated medications on the market, even at high doses, but you can never be too careful when it comes to your health.
