What Is The Difference Between CBD Candy And Edibles? – CBD Instead

What Is The Difference Between CBD Candy And Edibles?

Published on

While looking through the edible options, you may have noticed the many different kinds of products we have to offer. There’s peanut butter, honey, honey sticks, candy, and chocolate. But what is the difference? If you eat a cracker with peanut butter will is give you the same reaction as sucking on a lollipop?

Sublingual

When you have a candy like the lollipops that you suck on, it can work quickly in the way that tinctures do. This is because the CBD in the candy enters your body through the glands in your mouth. This method can work fast, tastes great, and the effects can last for up to four to six hours. Everyone is different, though, so the results may vary.

Digestive

Now, let’s say you put peanut butter on a cracker, or some honey on your toast. The CBD will have a chance to enter you’re your glands while you chew, but that isn’t the main way you receive the medication with these types of edibles. The CBD does most of its work after going through your digestive system. This means it will take a little longer to work, but it will last longer than the lollipops.

Make Your Own

You can use the CBD powder to make your own edibles by dissolving it into oil or butter. You can make brownies, pasta, cookies, pizza, or what have you. When making your own edible, you will need to put more CBD in the food than you would have in a lollipop.

Because the sucker enters your system through your glands, it bypasses the first pass metabolism. Edibles that you eat like brownies will have to go through the digestive process making it less potent.
