Can CBD Help With Cluster Headaches?
Currently, there isn’t enough scientific evidence to claim CBD a cure for cluster headaches. However, anecdotal evidence and preliminary results indicate that CBD oil may be able to help with the pain. There are also certain things that can make cluster headaches that CBD oil may be able to help with like anxiety.
Some scientists believe that cluster headaches can be triggered by extreme stress. CBD oil may be able to help with this aspect with its anti-anxiety effects. When you are overly stressed, the chemical cortisol is released which at high concentrations can become harmful to your brain. CBD oil has shown that it may be able to help regulate the brain chemistry that causes high stress and anxiety.
How Do You Take CBD Oil For Cluster Headaches?
CBD oil is a great way to reduce pain and stress. Some of the easiest ways to use it are by taking it through tincture, oral spray, or vaping. These methods can help get the CBD oil into your system quickly to help you find relief fast. You can also try taking CBD pills or edibles which will take longer to kick in, but may last throughout the day. Talk to your doctor before taking CBD oil so they can help monitor your progress and make sure this is the right route for you to take.

I have been a cluster headache suffer for over 16 years. They generally come around the winter solstice every other year. The pain range is 6 to 10 and the headaches last from 30 minutes to three hours each. Last Christmas day I was too sick to go to see my grand daughter. I had had 6 headaches in 10 hours. In the past I had treated with just quiet darkness a 1 Excedrin migraine every 12 hours but now I remembered that they had begun treating kids with epilepsy with cbd oil. So I went to Owlslee in Indianapolis and they helped me with Denver 600 Cinn. I had had about 40 headaches over 35 days at that point. I took a full dropper twice a day and have had no trouble since. Lest one think that this is a placebo effect I assure you that the pain is so intense there is no way a placebo would work. My doctor had put me on Topirimate and I hated it. They also use it to treat bi-polar disorder and for me at least I felt that it was re-wiring my brain.
So I am very grateful to have found cbd oil and that it is effective.
My friends mom who’s in her mid 50’s just got diagnosed with cluster headaches. The docs have no idea what to do. Can I ask what specific CBD Oils you guys used? Any help would be great. Thanks so much!
My CHs started at 13, 22 years ago. For many years, into my 20s, I was incorrectly diagnosed as a regular migraine sufferer. In my early 20s, finally diagnosed, I went through the gamut of meds more specifically geared to CH. Triptans worked but were very expensive at $32-35 / pill. For awhile I got them for free through the PPA program, which supplied 14/ month in 3 month batches for free. I would stockpile meds during remission periods, so I would have enough for the cluster period. When I was younger, pre twenties, I would get them spring and fall and they would go away as soon as I got sick. As I got older, I got onto Depo and the time for remission extended longer each time past CH period. Then I made the mistake of getting onto Medicaid and they switched my monthly allowable script to 6 pills per month. And at that time, according to them I had already received my 6 for the month. Now my CHs escalate as time passes during the 3-5 months they usually last. 1-2 per week to 1-2 per day escalate to 6-10 /day. When I was told I had gotten my allotment for the month I was at 8/day. I had heard that CBD helped migraines, but had never heard if it affected CHs. I was gifted some CBD oil, and amazingly, it worked faster that any med I had ever used. After suffering for so long, it is a serious miracle in my life. I would recommend any CH sufferers to try it, can’t hurt, can only help!
