CBD For Cuts and Scrapes – CBD Instead

CBD For Cuts and Scrapes

Published on

Many people are jumping on the bandwagon to using natural remedies when it comes to their health. While CBD oil has become popular with cases of epilepsy, treating anxiety, helping to reduce symptoms of arthritis, and more, there are also little ways the hemp plant may heal you in your home. CBD is a very versatile medication, and many are finding out what it can do when treating small cuts and scrapes.

Killing Germs

Cannabidiol helps to kill germs through its antibacterial properties. This potent antibiotic has been known to kill off some of the most drug-resistant bacteria. Even infections as elusive to medication like MSRA, or staph infection, have been conquered by cannabinoid extracts in the lab.

Reduces Pain

Though cuts aren’t painful at first, minutes after the accidental incision you’ll start feeling it. Cannabidiol elevates a chemical in our brain called anandamide that helps reduce your sensitivity to pain. This chemical is an endocannabinoid, which is our body’s version of cannabinoids. Anandamide binds to the CB1 receptor after traveling from the cell that is going to receive the pain message. The anandamide then sends a signal to reduce activity and stimulation, which leads to less pain.

Reduces Inflammation

One of the worst parts about a small cut or scrape is the itching. If you forget your hurt and end up scratching yourself, you could reopen the wound and make matters worse. Cannabidiol reduces the inflammation through its interaction with the CB2 receptor by elevating the endocannabinoid 2-ag. This endocannabinoid helps calm down the immune system when it binds to the cannabinoid receptor in a similar way that anandamide does with CB1. By reducing the swelling, you can take away some of the pain and itch that small cuts and scrapes give you.

The Products

Many CBD Topicals have more than just CBD in them that can help soothe and relax the wound as it begins to heal. Eucalyptus is in many CBD topicals which also reduces inflammation and pain. CBD body products with honey in them also have the additional antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that honey-infused products have to offer. Whether you are trying to use fewer chemicals or you just want to take a more natural approach, CBD oil could be the perfect solution for you.
